Today, I have fun not simply the exceptional ninetieth birthday of Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, elder statesman and Chairman of the Lagos Governance Advisory Council, but additionally a lifetime of honour, service and unusual loyalty.
Prince Olusi is a real icon of Lagos, a custodian of our progressive heritage, and a father determine whose knowledge has been a compass for generations of leaders.
Baba isn’t just a politician; he’s an establishment. From his early days as a Councillor within the Lagos Town Council in 1962, to his service within the House of Representatives within the Second Republic, to his function as Commissioner for Commerce in Lagos, and now as Chairman of our GAC, his life is a masterclass in selfless public service, loyalty, and unwavering precept.
Prince Olusi bridges our progressive motion of yesterday and at this time’s Renewed Hope.
His affect transcends Lagos. As a prince of Lagos by paternity and a prince of Ado-Ekiti by maternity, Baba Olusi embodies the unity and oneness of Yorubaland.
His latest set up because the Baba Adini of Yorubaland is a well-deserved recognition of Baba’s deep religion, ethical uprightness, and contributions to Islam and group constructing.
What he has given Lagos and Nigeria- love, help, steering and direction- Baba has given to me personally. For many years, he has been my chief, my mentor, my ally, my information and my counsellor.
Baba Olusi is a stabilising power in our progressive household. When we wavered, he steadied us. When we wanted knowledge, he offered it with out reservations.
Baba’s loyalty to the progressive trigger and the event of Lagos has by no means wavered. For him, it’s all in regards to the individuals and the event of Lagos and Nigeria.
Thank you, Baba, for who you’re. Thank you for being there for all of us in Lagos and the progressive household throughout the nation.
Baba’s humility, regardless of his towering affect, is the hallmark of true royalty and management.
I commend Baba Olusi for his enduring legacy of nurturing future leaders, selling training by means of the newly launched Prince Tajudeen Olusi Educational Fund, and committing to documenting the historical past and custom of Lagos.
On behalf of the Government and other people of Nigeria, I pray to Almighty Allah to grant you continued good well being, renewed energy, and lots of extra years of impactful service to Lagos State, Yorubaland, and Nigeria.
